I knew my book was being released at some point during this week in the USA but I wasn’t sure exactly when. It was a pleasant surprise when my cousin Jason, who lives in Minnesota, Facebooked me some pics of him buying Bay of Fires in the Eden Prairie Barnes and Noble bookstore. It was very exciting and also quite surreal.

I’ve got two cousins living in the States – Jason in Minnesota, and Harriet in Denver, Colorado. They’ve both married Americans. Jason owns Four Firkins beer store in Minnesota, which I think is so funny and every Aussie man’s dream. It’s a serious beer store, mind you, for serious lovers of beer! Jason and some of his kind friends sat for the camera, in various poses, as they began to read Bay of Fires. These pics are fantastic – I laughed out loud when I saw them. Jason – I’ll let you know if Bay of Fires’ publisher, Little, Brown & Co, are interested in distributing these publicity shots further! You never know, you might need your own agent!
